Among Us Lingo, Slang, Common Words Used (with Video)

Hi guys,
Today we are exploring how to read and write common words used in among us game. let's get started.

What is Among Us Game?

Among Us is an online multiplayer social deduction game developed and published by American game studio Innersloth.

While initially released in 2018 to little mainstream attention, it received an influx of popularity in 2020 due to many well-known Twitch streamers and YouTubers playing it. In response to the game's popularity, Among Us 2 was announced in August 2020.

Among us is a game of teamwork and betrayal developed by InnerSloth. Players are either crewmates or an impostor. The game takes place in a space-themed setting, in which players each take on one of two roles, up to 7 players being Crewmates, and up to 3 players being Impostors.

What are the Crewmates?

The Crewmates are the GOOD guys. The goal of the Crewmates is to identify the Impostors, eliminate them, and complete tasks around the map. Crewmates win if all Impostors are eliminated or all tasks are completed whereas Impostors win if there is an equal number of Impostors and Crewmates, or if a critical sabotage goes unresolved.

What are the Impostors?

The Impostors are the BAD guys. The Impostors' goal is to covertly sabotage and kill the Crewmates before they complete all of their tasks. Players suspected to be Impostors may be eliminated via a plurality vote, which any player may initiate by calling an emergency meeting (except during a crisis) or reporting a dead body.

afk = away from keyboard

Once a player says he is AFK, it means he has walked away from the device for many possible reasons. Either internet connection, or glitch on the game.

Though it's commonly used, a lot of "Among Us" players also use this terminology to create a confusion, avoid blame for killing, or just irritate other gamers.

gg = good game

Another gaming term is the word "GG," short for "good game." Some also uses this word to tell the impostor he has done a great job on keeping up his disguise.

sus = suspicious

Once you felt that another crewmate is quite suspicious, it's better to tell your co-crewmates that he is "sus."

However, this doesn't mean, the player is already the impostor. Few impostors in "Among Us" may even call out names, just to avoid suspicion from other crewmates.

vent = Impostors hide or travel to connected room

Venting is an essential ability in Among Us game, which allows impostors to move around the map with much more ease. It not only allows impostors with an opportunity to get away from the scene of a crime quickly but also hide in the vents until someone reports the dead body.

elec = electrical room

cyan = light blue

A lot of players on the game don't know the meaning of the word 'Cyan.'

Cyan is a combination of green and blue color. Or most commonly, a simple light blue color. Remember: If you see Cyan killed a crewmate, better tell your co-crewmates, as quickly as possible. "Cyan is an impostor!"

purp = purple

Now, you know. Let's Play!
